Pound Cake & Beach Bath's

Life...with pound cake, what could be better! Okay so seriously, I had cut myself a slice to have with my morning cup of goodness and as is the usual I got distracted (probably something to do with baby-cakes) and set the little nugget I had left on our side table.

A few minutes later I turned around to find that Abigail had not only found my "nugget" but proceeded to hold it daintily in both hands with a mouth full of cake and the only sound that emitted from her body was "Mmmmmmmmmmmm".

What could a mother do but grab her camera, right?!? As you can see, she's enjoying it...to the fullest.

Having a little tea/coffee party with her dolly and baby.

When you can't go to the beach, bring the beach into the bathtub ~ well not exactly, but still fun. Tanner decided to join in the fun too.

So...anyone have any experience with toddlers (well okay 20 month olds) and seasonal allergies? Abigail has had a runny nose (clear 92% of the time) now since Mother's day and just the past few days has it also been accompanied with a cough (of which I'm sure is from the drainage). I am still not convinced that it could be allergies cause most of my experience with colds/viruses the discharge is usually colored. Nonetheless, she runs like a faucet each day. Sleep was disrupted in the early days but she is managing to sleep with/through it now. Speaking of sleep, sounds like a good idea to me.

Extra, extra...read all about it!

I am so excited!!! I have been waiting for a few weeks now to be able to share this exciting news & photos with you.

My dear friend (and fellow Chinese adopting family) Elise from Liptacks and Ladybugs is stepping out into a new adventure during her continued wait for their daughter. She is launching her new photography business. She is a creative and incredibly talented individual who is using her strengths/gifts behind a camera lens. She has this amazing way of capturing the very essence of each individuals personality through the click of a button.

See for yourself...

Well I told you she was talented. You can see her official website here, Elise Marie Photography

Summer is coming and maybe you are in the market for an updated family photo? or maybe you have a soon-to-be senior in high school who would like a fresh look for their senior portraits? or maybe you are expecting a new baby or just had one and you'd like to capture their youth? Elise Marie is your gal.

Would you help me in supporting this new business with our business??
You can contact her directly through her website {click the picture on the top of my sidebar}.

{Elise, you are such an amazing photographer and I am overjoyed and honored to be able to support you through your new adventure. xoxo}

When Mama ain't happy...

ain't nobody happy, right?!? or so the saying goes.

Well, Princess Abigail has been sick with a bad cold for the past 2 nights which means she has been awaking each morning between 4:30-5:00am and not napping well I might add. Considering the fact that she can't breath through her nose makes it a bit more difficult to sleep. Looks like Big Brother TayTay (as she calls him) shared a few too many kisses and loves as he's the one who came down with it Mother's day afternoon.

Needless to say, I can't imagine why I am not myself with periods of snippiness which = unhappy Mama. I am literally 'dog-tired' (no pun intended).

Here's hoping for a better nights sleep.

Jury says...

BLOG!

I received so many wonderful comments of encouragement to continue blogging - even if I couldn't get to it daily or even weekly. It was because of you that I spent some time thinking about the time it takes, the energy it requires, the reason why I blog. It became clear to me that as much as I would love to say "well to entertain you all, of course", my authentic answer would be for 5 reasons:

1) Hubby and I
2) Son #1
3) Son #2
4) Son #3
5) Daughter #1

Since I am not a scrapbooker, (quilter by nature) my children have - ok well had no hope of receiving anything organized, colorful, and carefully planned out displaying their lives. I was reminded by a fellow blogger that this "blog journal" serves as our "journal, diary, scrapbook" for each one of us.

I will still continue to blog, though my style might differ a bit from here to there as I will be focusing on writing for my children and our family. This new blog serves as a reminder to me especially that my little world, my life consists of more than just our sweet baby girl (though she is pretty special and incredibly important to all of us). I have the best husband (and best friend I could ever ask for) and 3 amazing young men in my home who are indeed worthy of writing about. I have a faith that sadly has been given a back seat when it comes to journaling about all the things God has been teaching me in my life over these past 8 months.

So...with that I give you:
Life...LOVING to the fullest

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength...Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these." Mark 12:30-31
